Privacy Policy

Perfume Picks ("we", "our", or "the app") is a fragrance wardrobe and wear-log app for iOS, with a companion website at https://perfumepicks.app. This policy explains what we collect, how we use it, and how to delete it — for both the app and the website.

1. Information We Collect

Account information. If you sign in with Apple or Google, we receive your email and a unique identifier from the provider. Guest accounts store only an anonymous identifier with no personal information.

User-generated content. Wardrobe entries, wear logs, ratings, swipe feedback, quiz responses, taste-profile data, private notes, and SOTD posts are stored in your account.

Device data. A device identifier and basic diagnostics (OS version, device model, app version) are collected to deliver core features and prevent abuse. We do not collect precise location.

Purchase information. Subscription transactions are processed by Apple through the App Store and by RevenueCat as the subscription manager. We receive a purchase confirmation but never see your payment details.

2. How We Use Your Information

To run your wardrobe, wear log, and taste profile.
To suggest fragrances you already own based on weather, occasion, and recent wears.
To sync your wardrobe and wear history across devices.
To improve our taste-profile model using anonymized swipe and wear data.
To process subscription payments through the App Store via RevenueCat.

3. Privacy Posture

Your wardrobe, wear log, ratings, private notes, and taste profile are private by default. Scent of the Day posts become public only when you explicitly toggle that entry public. We do not run cross-user advertising, and we do not sell personal information.

4. Third-Party Services

We rely on the following third parties to operate the app. Each receives only the data necessary for the service it provides:

Supabase — backend storage and authentication.
RevenueCat — subscription management.
Apple / Google — sign-in and payment processing.
PostHog — anonymous usage analytics.
Sentry — anonymous crash reporting.

5. Affiliate Link Tracking

When a fragrance detail page links out to a retailer such as FragranceX, Sephora, or Amazon Luxury Beauty, the retailer may set cookies or identifiers on the destination site that we have no control over. Perfume Picks itself only records that an outbound click occurred — we do not pass your account identity to the retailer.

6. Data Retention

Your data is retained as long as your account is active. You may delete your account at any time from the Profile screen, which permanently removes all associated data including wardrobe entries, wear logs, swipe history, quiz results, taste profile, ratings, private notes, and SOTD posts.

7. Your Rights

You may request a copy of your data, request correction or deletion, and withdraw consent at any time. California residents and EU users have additional rights under CCPA and GDPR respectively. Contact us using the address below.

8. Children's Privacy

Perfume Picks is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 13.

9. Data Security

All data is transmitted over HTTPS and stored in secured, access-controlled databases. Authentication tokens are stored securely on your device. We follow industry-standard practices to protect your information.

10. How to Delete Your Account

You may delete your account in two ways:

In-app: Profile → Settings → Delete Account.
By email: if you cannot access the app, email support@perfumepicks.app from your account email with the subject "Delete My Account". We will permanently remove your account within 7 days.

11. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be communicated through the app. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.
