Terms of Service

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of Perfume Picks ("the app") and the website at https://perfumepicks.app. By using the app or the website, you agree to these Terms.

1. Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years of age to use Perfume Picks. By creating an account or using the app, you represent that you meet this age requirement.

2. Account and Sign-In

You may sign in with Apple or Google, or continue as a guest. You are responsible for activity under your account. Guest accounts store data locally on your device; signing in enables cloud sync across devices.

3. Subscriptions

Perfume Picks Pro is an optional auto-renewing subscription available as a monthly or yearly plan. Subscriptions are managed by Apple through the App Store and processed by RevenueCat as our subscription manager. Key terms:

Pricing is shown in-app at the time of purchase, in your local currency.
Payment is charged to your Apple ID account at confirmation of purchase.
Subscriptions automatically renew unless canceled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period.
You can manage subscriptions and turn off auto-renewal in Settings → Apple ID → Subscriptions on your iPhone.
Refund requests must be made through Apple. We cannot process refunds directly.
Price changes take effect at the next renewal and require notice and consent where required by Apple.

4. Free vs Pro

The Free tier is feature-limited; Pro unlocks additional features. Current pricing and the up-to-date list of what each tier includes are shown in-app at the time of purchase and may evolve as new features ship. Continued use of an active subscription after a feature change constitutes acceptance of the updated tier definition.

5. Affiliate Links and Retailer Disclosure

Fragrance detail pages and selected articles may include “Buy from” links to third-party retailers such as FragranceX, Sephora, Amazon Luxury Beauty, and others. These are affiliate links: when you click one and complete a purchase, we may earn a small commission from the retailer. This does not affect the price you pay.

Affiliate links are clearly indicated on the page where they appear. Perfume Picks is not a retailer and does not sell, distribute, or ship fragrance. Your purchase contract is with the retailer, and any questions about pricing, shipping, returns, or product authenticity must be directed to them.

This disclosure is provided in accordance with the FTC's Guides Concerning the Use of Endorsements and Testimonials in Advertising.

6. User Content

You retain ownership of content you create on Perfume Picks, including wear logs, ratings, private notes, SOTD posts, and any reviews. By submitting a Scent of the Day post or any other content that you make public, you grant Perfume Picks a non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide license to host, display, and distribute that content within the app and on the website for the purpose of operating the service.

You may delete your public content at any time. Private notes and wear logs remain solely under your control and are not licensed to us beyond what is necessary to operate the app.

You agree not to submit content that is unlawful, defamatory, obscene, harassing, abusive, objectionable, or infringes on the intellectual property rights of others. We have zero tolerance for objectionable content or abusive behavior.

Any user can report content through the in-app "Report" button. We review reports within 24 hours and will remove violating content and, where appropriate, restrict or terminate the offending account. We reserve the right to remove content at our discretion.

7. Recommendations

Picks, similarity matches, layering suggestions, and dupe suggestions are best-effort, based on catalog data and our taste-profile model. Personal scent perception varies. Always sample before purchasing a full bottle.

8. Acceptable Use

No abuse, scraping, reverse-engineering, or interference with the service. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms.

9. Intellectual Property

The Perfume Picks name, logo, design, and code are our property. Fragrance brand names, house names, product names, and bottle imagery are the property of their respective owners and are used for informational and identification purposes only.

10. Disclaimer of Warranties

Perfume Picks is provided "AS IS" and "AS AVAILABLE" without warranties of any kind, express or implied. Fragrance notes, accords, and performance information are general reference and may not reflect every batch or reformulation. We make no claims about the safety, suitability, or compatibility of any fragrance with any individual's skin or health. If you have a known fragrance sensitivity or allergy, consult the retailer or manufacturer before purchasing.

11. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total liability for any claim related to the app or the website shall not exceed the amount you paid to us in the prior twelve months. We are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from or related to your use of the service, including loss of data.

12. Account Deletion

You may delete your account at any time from the Profile screen within the app. This permanently removes all your data and cannot be undone. Deleting your account does not automatically cancel an active App Store subscription — manage subscriptions in Settings → Apple ID → Subscriptions.

13. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be communicated through the app. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
